SA-born comedian Trevor Noah has responded to the news that Hollywood's favourite couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have filed for a divorce.

Taking to his Daily Show on Wednesday evening, Trevor Noah acted devastated as he gave his views on the high-profile split.

"I can't believe that Angelina is leaving Brad. So, no more Brangelina? Is this a Brad-xit? Ange-leave-here?," said Trevor.

The comedian went on to joke that the sad news would be especially felt in Africa.

"You think that you are devastated? Think of how Africans are feeling right now! These two were our only way out. How do you think I got here?" Trevor said.

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from her husband Brad Pitt after 12 years of being together, citing "irreconcilable differences".
