After taking a six-year hiatus from the music industry, Elle Tisane is officially back with a sophomore gospel album titled In Love.
Speaking to Sunday World ahead of the release of her 19-track offering tomorrow, the former Muvhango actress revealed that she took a break from music to work on "other projects". However, she recently decided to heed the calls from of her many fans, who have been begging her to come out with new material.
"When the music bug bites you, it's forever. I'm one of those amazing singers who was bitten by the bug and shared my talent with the world," she told the local publication.
"I took a break to focus on other projects, but I have now returned because my fans have been harassing me to produce more music that will soothe their souls. And voila! I obliged."
Elle broke into the music scene in 2002 with the release I'skhathi-Time, an R&B album that saw her earning top nomination in the Best Afro-pop album category at the SAMAs.
Two years later, she dropped another R&B album, FrontCover, which also earned her a nod at the SAMAs.
In 2009, Elle switched from romantic love songs to singing gospel, which she says "runs in [her] veins".
