Kwaito artist Brickz has taken it upon himself to lend a hand in helping and supporting the families of artists who have died.

Speaking to Move! recently, the singer pointed out the importance of artists banding together to assist one another when the going gets tough.

"In life, we need to embrace one another and help each other however we can," he told the local publication.

"I have realised that as local musicians, we only care about each other when we are having a good time. Once a person dies, we forget all about them."

Brickz slammed this idea, saying that they "should have each other's backs even in death" as artists, and always keep in mind that "there are families that were depending on these musicians."

Brickz is part of the organisers of a Brown Dash Tribute Concert set to take place on December 3 at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.

Proceeds from the concert will pay for the education of Brown's children and empower aspiring township talent.

"The fundamental aim of this tribute concert is to continue the legacy that Mpamile (Brown Dash) had started and to enable those he has left behind to enjoy his riches," organiser Mahlomola Kekana said in a statement in September.
