The finale of Idols season 12 was not about to be overshadowed by Gareth Cliff and his comments about Mara Louw. Nope. The night belonged to Noma Khumalo.
It was a tight race between the two final contestants of season 12 of Idols South Africa. But it was Noma Khumalo who won, beating Thami Shobede.
There was a record number of votes cast, with over 83 million people voting throughout the season.
AKA performed on the night and debuted two of his new singles.
Love was the order of the night as the top two performed afro-soul jams with local stars.
Noma paired up with Nathi for the track, Noma Kanjani, while Thami sang Sobabili with Kelly Khumalo.
As she was crowned the winner she song her single Want it to Feel Like it Did with You to a standing ovation from the crowd.
