Major crime police unit to probe George Michael’s death amid drug overdose fears

An elite police unit has been called in to investigation the cause of the death of legendary star George Michael.

The Sun reported that the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit has been called in death after a post-mortem proved to be inconclusive.

Toxicology tests are now being conducted on Michael’s body because police are concerned the singer’s death may have been caused by an overdose of illegal or prescription drugs.

Michael’s cousin revealed that the star had a well-documented history of drug abuse and that he was last treated for crack cocaine addiction in 2015. His family denied claims that George was also battling a heroin habit.

His partner‚ Fadi Fawaz‚ was questioned by local police after he found Michael’s body on Christmas Day.

Last week tweets from Fadi’s account claimed Michael had tried to kill himself several times and that he had finally succeeded.
