Terry Pheto heartbroken over her father's death

Award-winning actress Terry Pheto has been left devastated by the untimely death of her father.

The actress took to social media on Tuesday night to share the news with fans. "Go on, go home. I am so broken. My Dad. My Hero," Terry said.

Terry's manager, Wesley Mark Gainer confirmed the news to TshisaLIVE in a statement.

"We are all saddened and devastated at this loss," read part of the statement.

Wesley said that Terry was thankful for the overwhelming support she's received in the wake of the tragedy.

"Terry thanks everyone for the well wishes. We ask that her time with family, at this stage be respected as they grieve the loss of their loved one," added the statement.

No further details surrounding the death have been disclosed.

The news comes just days after the Tsotsi star jetted off on holiday to Australia.  During a recent interview with DJ Fresh on 5FM Terry, who grew up in a shack in Evaton, said she lived for her family.

"I live for them. So if I can give them the best of everything that's reason enough for me to wake up."
