Family and friends of gospel singer Lundi Tyamara have called on South Africans to join hands at a prayer session to be held in the Johannesburg CBD on Thursday night.

A prayer session at the Central Methodist Church has been arranged.

Lundi was moved to ICU on Monday after his condition worsened.

He was diagnosed with stomach TB and liver problems and has been in and out of hospital since December.

Sources have told TshisaLIVE that  his condition is "critical" and have called on Mzansi to unite for their "brother."

"We are not giving up on Lundi. We believe that through God's grace he will pull through. He may not be doing well right now, but he is a fighter," said his manager and cousin Anele Hlazo.
