Rapper Sean Pages knows what it feels like to be heartbroken on Valentine's Day and so he wants to make sure that one of his female fans is not alone.

The rapper recently launched a competition to win a date with him on Valentine's Day and told TshisaLIVE that the idea for the contest came from the pain of personal experience.

"I know what it is like to be alone and heartbroken on Valentine's Day and I realise that I am not the only one so I decided to give one person a chance to have a great Valentine's Day," Sean said.

The winner can look forward to a full day of fun and a lil' romance.

"Some people haven't had a Valentine in many years and so I want to treat them like a princess, make them feel special, and make the day memorable," Sean added.

All fans have to do is share a story about lost love, or "the one that got away", and tag Sean's Twitter or Instagram handles.

Sean said that he decided on the theme because he once lost the love of his life.

"It's a miserable story, really. It was a person that got away six years ago. I've been hung up on her for a long time. She came into my life when it was a broken man and she put back the pieces of my life. Sadly, I only realised what I had when it was too late," Sean revealed.

The competition was launched this past weekend and Sean said that he has already had his inbox flooded with emotional stories.

"The response has been great. Some of the stories are clearly made-up but there are many that are heartbreaking. I can relate to those and it’s been really emotional to read some of the messages," the rapper said.

The competition will run until this Friday, February 10, and a winner will be announced shortly after on Sean's social media pages.
