'Let's go song for song' - Emtee rubbishes 'song theft' reports

Rapper Emtee has dismissed reports that he stole his latest single from an upcoming artist, saying that he understands that "status" in the industry makes him a target for "chancers".

Emtee said that he is not fazed by the 'song theft accusation' reports that he stole his latest single Ghetto Hero from an upcoming artist.

"It's becoming a habit for people to try their luck and take chances. I mean, where were they when I was working hard to become who I am? How can I steal what is mine?" he told TshisaLIVE.

Sunday World reported that a young artist called Jolondy Jacobs, as well as several unknown musicians, have claimed the Roll Up rapper is notorious with "stealing" people's music and not crediting them.

Emtee has put the accusations down to jealous and said the claims come from those who are "not where he is in life".

The rapper told TshisaLIVE that to his knowledge to case has been opened against him and he's not going to pay attention to the reports because "it's not worth it".

Emtee released the single last month and said that he knows that his haters want him to act irrationally so the matter can "blow up" and they "will get noticed."

He added that Ghetto Hero has received a lot of love and he feels that it may even get more hype than one of his hit songs Roll Up.

"I won't let them get to me. I make music and if there needs to be 'war' let's go song for song. I have confidence in my music and I know I am G.O.A.T (greatest of all time)".
