Vatican court convicts accomplice over Pope document leaks

A Vatican court on Saturday convicted a computer programmer for helping Pope Benedict XVI's butler leak confidential papers from the papal residence, giving him a suspended sentence of two months.

Claudio Sciarpelletti, 48, has worked for 20 years at the Secretariat of State, effectively the administration of the Roman Catholic Church, and ensured the maintenance of all the computers used in the Vatican.
