It may be known for playing host to Sin City, but Nevada parents aren't exactly enthusiastic about proposed primary school course-work that teaches masturbation.

According to the Last Vegas Review Journal, the Clark County School Board has expressed shock at sex education materials being considered for their schools

The newspaper reports that the issue getting the most attention by the board is that the material teaches children from ages five through eight  “touching and rubbing one’s genitals to feel good is called masturbation.”

“You want to teach my 5-year-old how to masturbate?” said parent Julie Butler.

The material would also teach the children about homosexuality and to respect everyone "regardless of who they are attracted to".

The district used to teach abstinence only courses until 2004, and its sex education materials still focus on abstinence exposing students to contraceptives and safe-sex practices if they decide to have sex.

The changes would make the district America's fifth-largest school district a “comprehensive” sexuality model.
