This  is a carefully selected and thoroughly researched collection of Mandela's most inspiring quotations. The collection was edited by Sahm Venter and Sello Hatang, who had access to Mandela's private papers, speeches, correspondence and audio recordings spanning 60 years.

The Centre of Memory at the Nelson Mandela Foundation receives thousands of requests from all over the world to authenticate quotations.

The book offers readers, researchers and writers authenticated quotes and documents a range of quotes in one book.

Among the 2000 quotes is a pertinent one for our times, from when Mandela spoke to journalists in 1992 in response to a question about his separation: "It is your duty to examine the conduct of public figures and to place them in the spotlight - that is your duty."

The only criticism is that the print is exceptionally tiny.
