The initiative, which celebrates its 14th anniversary today, has grown in stature and strength. Fittingly, Miss South Africa 2016, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene, has been appointed the campaign’s official ambassador.

She spent time with a number of girls this morning at the "Take a Girl Child to Work Day" event hosted by Minister in the Presidency for Women Susan Shabangu at the Union Buildings. Sixty schoolgirls had a chance to chat to Miss SA and snap some selfies before proceedings officially began.

Named as one of the movement's mentors this year, Basetsana Kumalo shared a stunning picture of herself ahead of the day's activities.

Meanwhile, an excited Khanyi Dhlomo looked forward to welcoming schoolgirls from Pioneer Academy Ormonde to her company, Ndalo Media in support of the initiative.

Actress Hlubi Mboya spent the day with young girls from the City of Ekurhuleni, while Sophie Ndaba shared her "fabulous day" with two young ladies.
