The young rapper injured in a shooting at a T.I concert in New York on Wednesday evening has been arrested for being the shooter in the incident, New York police officials said on Thursday.

According to a police statement issued only hours after the shooting, young rapper Roland Collins, popularly known as Troy Ave, has been arrested and charged with Attempted Murder & Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

Police are currently investigating the shooting which left one person dead and several others injured, including Roland.

International reports claim that Roland accidentally shot himself in the shooting that took place backstage at the Irving Plaza venue in New York this week, and that the rapper has also been charged with reckless endangerment and possession of an illegal weapon.

Police have since released a video of the shooting, which shows a suspect walking aggressively into a room backstage before opening fire.

Roland has apparently been involved in long running feud with fellow rapper Maino, who had just left the stage at the venue when shots from the incident were heard.

American rapper T.I has expressed his sadness at the events, taking to social media site Twitter to offer his condolences to the victims of the shooting.
