The battle continues: Amber Heard denies she is 'blackmailing' Johnny Depp

Amber Heard has slammed allegations that she is blackmailing Johnny Depp as details around their pending divorce continues to dominate headlines.

International website, The Wrap, published a column written by Dough Stanhope, a close friend of Depps. In the article, he claims that Depp has detailed how Heard had planned to lie about him. "Amber was now going to leave him, threatening to lie about him publicly in any and every possible duplicitous way if he didn't agree to her terms."

Heard's lawyer has responded to the column, calling for an immediate retraction. "The allegations against Ms.Heard are absolutely and unequivocally false," a report on CNN was quoted as saying.

Heard filed for divorce after 15 months of marriage, claiming that "during the entirety of our relationship Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me."

Depp has retaliated by saying that the claims of abuse are just an act on Heard's side. "Amber is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse."
