I wish I launched him higher and further, says AKA on Durban July fan incident

More than a year after being involved in what some have termed an assault on a fan at last year's Durban July, AKA has defended his actions, saying he would react in exactly the same way.

Taking to his Twitter page, AKA commented on a fan who jumped on stage with him recently.

"The fan that rushed the stage last night was simply overcome with happiness and beams .... Unlike that idiot at the July a year back."

Video footage of the star pushing and kicking a fan off stage during his performance emerged last year after the Durban July. At the time, AKA said he was not sorry and has again defended his actions.

"It's all about approach .... The only regret about last year's incident ...... I wish I launched him higher and further to be quite honest. There's a big difference between interrupting a performance to show appreciation and doing it to take the piss."
