DJ Black Coffee's ultimate dream is to create and sustain "a country of leaders and forward thinkers," but not without sharing his thoughts on what has to be done to improve South Africa and promote nation building.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Black Coffee posted a lengthy note, detailing his ideals for the country and it's people. He explained that while he understands the grim past of SA, which saw the apartheid system "destroying the self-love and pride of black people," he is more interested on how we move forward from that, given that racial oppression has ended.

  •

"I understand the apartheid system was very instrumental in destroying self love and pride of black people... But now that's gone...what are we doing to change the state of our nation now as people," he asked.

"When do we start building a society we are proud of, encourage our children to follow their dreams not just getting a degree on marketing or business management when in reality they'll never manage any business with these degrees...it's paper to hang on the wall to make the elders happy.......because there's no jobs....a lot of people with degrees are already sitting at home with no jobs"

The world-renowned DJ continued to question the current schooling system, not only criticising it, but suggesting that students should be taught about Steve Biko, Kwame Nkrumah "and all the other great people of this content". He added that schools should encourage their students to have a direct impact on the economy of the country, and not merely have a qualification without a job.

"When do we change our school system to reflect who we truly are today....It's time we create a country where children are taught in schools in depth about Steve Bantu Biko, Kwame [Nkrumah] and all the other great people of this continent (all races) so they can have love, pride and respect for where they come from and who they are.

"School[s] that nurture their talents and interest and prepare them to directly impact the economy of the Country not join a long list of the Qualified and unemployed."

In the wake of clamorous #FeesMustFall protests, Black Coffee worries that all the chaos could be for nothing if fees do actually fall and students have access to free education, however are not guaranteed jobs.

"If fees do fall, are all these students guaranteed jobs? After all the agony, conflicts with the police, the arrests, the injuries and the damages on all these properties. Time for change is now, and no we don't need to march and sing, we need to start the conversation and implement it ourselves.

"In my lifetime my ultimate dream is to help create and nurture a country of leaders and forward thinkers," he revealed.
