Bridget Masinga is dismayed about pollution in Durban.

After this year's devastating floods, about 44,050 bags of litter were collected during mass clean-ups.

On Good Friday 8,800 bags were collected from Pipeline and Amanzimtoti beaches, while about 2,700 bags were collected south of Amanzimtoti beach. On the same day 230 bags were collected at Bluff beaches and 1,100 bags were filled along the Durban beachfront.

A day later, 5,100 bags were collected along Pipeline and Amanzimtoti beaches, while 4,100 bags were collected south of Amanzimtoti.

On Twitter on Wednesday, the media personality shared a video showcasing the litter.

In the post, Bridget recalled witnessing a lot of litter in neighbourhoods she visited while filming a project. She said she was unimpressed with how Durban was turning out.

"What they’ve done to my city is really maddening ... it’s filthy man. Was working across the city for four months and every neighbourhood we filmed in was filthy with litter. They’ve run this city down to a shell of what it used to be 15 to 20 years ago."
