Nchooh! Khuzani Mpungose shares heartwarming moment meeting his ‘biggest’ fan

For many people, meeting your favourite musician or someone you look up to can sound far-fetched, but a fan of Khuzani Mpungose recently got to live his dream of sharing a precious moment with him. 

A young fan was trembling in excitement when meeting the maskandi star at a restaurant and got to dance as well as sing along to his song Isilingo.

Having had a 13-part docu-series, uShuni kaMaskandi, premiered on SABC1 and many accolades under his belt, Khuzani said he considers himself a pioneer in the genre as few artists have accomplished what he has. 

“Doing reality TV was a great thing that made me happy. I learnt that when you do something you love, it’s important for people to know about it, see it and learn how you get it done,” he told TshisaLIVE. 

“It’s nice to come up with new things in the industry so you will always be relevant. When you do it, you not only lift up yourself but the genre as well. Maskandi has a message. It’s the only genre that passes the message, brings music to people, relates to them. It’s a genre we use to fix the world.”
