In July rapper K.O held his first Live At The Hill show at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg, a moment he says was reassuring of his impact on the industry.

K.O exclusively revealed to TshisaLIVE that after the success of his first show, there will be two more shows before the year ends.

“That concept is being moved around the country, we just needed to find the right partners. So in December we are doing two shows, one in Durban and another in Cape Town. We are gonna be announcing the dates pretty soon and probably we are going to continue with that on the other side of the year as well, shortly after my new album comes up,” he said.

The rapper expressed his gratitude that despite being held in winter, his fans had showed up.

“That experience alone is everything I needed to confirm who I am in the game. Leading up to it — and this was in the middle of winter — I was spooked because I was thinking, do I actually have people that support me? And to make matters worse it was icy cold that night. The entire day the weather was decent and then in the evening it turned into European weather and I was like are people gonna come out still? When I got out there I saw that it was a full house, the heart was touched in a crazy way.”

He said as a result he wants to make sure the next time he does a show in winter it is indoors.

Things are not only going well on the music front for the SETE hit maker but his entrepreneurial ventures are also going well.

He is about to open his first store in Rosebank in a couple of weeks

“These are some of the things that I want people to know about because my story is not different from the next person, I just want people to look and go, 'actually I can do what he did, and I can do it better'.”

“The store doesn't only necessarily cover the fashion aspect. I'm trying to kind of create a chain store that caters for different things, whether it's adding the food element in there, having the sneaker laundry, a smoothie bar. Like I want things that I can actually franchise and take around the country. When you walk into the store it's not for you to just buy clothes, but it's also for young kids who during their lunch break will think of making a stop there.

“It's something really out of the box that I didn't really think of, but once I took the plunge and went down this route, new ideas started hitting me and I can see myself opening about 10 of these stores countrywide and hopefully be able to take it outside the country.”
