Singer Kelly Khumalo has revealed that her now ex-boyfriend Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye used to beat her.
Speaking to Sunday World Khumalo said on their son’s birthday, Jub Jub hit both her and her mother.
Khumalo says the signs were there but she chose to ignore them. She says Jub Jub was a gentleman at first but changed. He started controlling her and choosing friends for her.
Khumalo says the Ndikhokhele singer is childish and doesn’t care about anything.
She says after she miscarried their first baby, “it was a sad moment for me because I wanted to have a baby badly, but he showed no emotion. Instead he just said I’d be fine.”
She says Jub Jub would demand money from her and if she didn’t comply he’d beat her up. “Once we fought over my bank card until it broke.”
She says sometimes Jub Jub would klap her for paying more attention to their son than him: “A klap would just come from nowhere ’cos I was focusing on my son.”
Khumalo says she will put her experience into a “tell all” book.
