Axed Generations actor scores new gig

Thato Molamu, who played the role of Nicholas Nomvete, has announced his new gig which is set to debut on SABC 2 in September.

Molamu was one of sixteen cast members fired by Generations creator and executive producer, Mfundi Vundla. He took to Instagram to divulge details about his new job which will see him present a game show titled Whats Behind The Wall?

"My journey into presenting my first game show ever as an artist #WhatsBehindTheWall launching in #September #7pmslot and I'm excited about this new venture. Look out for it," he posted.

The 29-year-old joined the popular drama in 2011 as bad boy character, Nicholas. The Mafikeng born actor started out in theatre and has appeared in SABC 1 HIV/AIDS awareness drama, Intersexions and acted in a movie, Taka Taka alongside Trevor Noah and Kagiso Lediga.

Other axed Generations actors who have side gigs include Sophie Ndaba who is a brand ambassador for Cell C, Anga Makhubalo who is a music recording artist, Winnie Ntshaba who is an entrepreneur and founder of the Royalty Soapie Awards and Atandwa Kani who is due to take up his role as Samora Lembede, moonlights as a theatre maestro.
