The rapper took to social media on Wednesday to express how heartbroken he was to find out that the radio station is allegedly not playing his tracks as regularly as other stations across the country.

Reason claims that his hit tracks Endurance, BrandNew and Yipikayay are getting a lot of traction on other stations except Metro.

"I got to look at my radio spins the other day, and realised that Metro FM SA still don't play my music much. I can safely say. I tried," Reason tweeted.

Reason explained that he finds it difficult to celebrate the success his tracks have been experiencing, while a local radio station has seemingly snubbed him.

Just last week Reason's track Yipikayay was played on MTV star Sway’s radio show in the States.

"It's hard for me to celebrate the fact that an international icon identifies my greatness, while the biggest station in MY country doesn't."

Reason explained that the perceived snub has left him confused and hurt.

I'm not even hating. But, It really confuses me when I look at my catalogue & realize... None of this has been good enough for @METROFMSA??

SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago told TMG Entertainment that he could not comment on Reason's claims as he does not have all the facts of the situation.

"It is a very difficult situation for us as the SABC because there are so many musicians in the country who all want radio airplay but whenever a musician submits music to a station, he or she needs to be given reasons why their music isn't suitable for the station and it is up to them to motivate further and insist on being provided with the reasons," Kaizer explained.

Kaizer encouraged musicians such as Reason to file an official complaint with the SABC so that it can be dealt with.

"Problems can't be solved on social media because the claim is made, people comment and then what happens? Musicians should feel free to raise such issues with the SABC so that we can help."
