Seven men were arrested on Wednesday following the murders of six men whose bodies were found near a farm outside Kraaifontein, Cape Town police said.

"They are detained for questioning," Captain Frederick van Wyk said.

The group was expected to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate's Court soon.

Police suspected the six dead men, aged between 18 and 30, had been stoned to death.

They were discovered lying face down with their hands tied behind their backs by passers-by in Joostenberg Vlakte on Tuesday, December 9.

They appeared to have been stoned to death, Colonel Tembinkosi Kinana said last week.

Police investigations continue.
