According to a report, the fired CEO of the Royal Household Trust, which manages King Zwelithini's financial affairs has divulged details on the monarch's alleged outrageous spending habits.

The axed head of the trust, Lucas Buthelezi has taken the royal body to the CCMA after he was let go from his position last year.

The Star reports that Buthelezi is involved in a legal tussle with the trust as he wants compensation after his nine month ordeal in the job. He earned R100,000 a month and was in charge of authorising payments on a budget of R22 million.

Buthelezi says he was pushed out of his five-year contract with the trust after he insisted there was not enough money to bankroll the King's demands. Buthelezi cites Zwelithini ordering that R4 million be made available for his wedding to his sixth wife and spending R120,000 on crockery and demanding brand new television sets for all six wives even  though only one was needed.

“I was undermined. Every time I pointed out that something should not be coming out of our budget but from the department, or every time I queried non-budgetary items, I would be told to just do it. And I was the one who had to explain everything to the portfolio committee.”

Buthelezi claims the trust is stalling his CCMA bid. The trust meanwhile says it is awaiting documents to finalise the situation with Buthelezi. Until then, the matter was adjourned.
