The boss of a technology start-up in the US shocked his employees by announcing he was taking a 90% pay cut to raise the salaries of the lowest-paid staff. Dan Price, founder and CEO of Seattle's Gravity Payments, introduced a new minimum wage of $70000 (R844291) and told staff he would be cutting his $1-million salary to $70000 too.The national minimum wage in the US is about $17000 a year.Price, 30, who is single and started the company as a teenager from his bedroom, took the bold step after reading that "emotional well-being" rises with income, but only to a point - about $75000 a year."I think CEO pay is way out of whack," said Price, who has been dubbed "the nicest boss in the world". ..
