PSL players eyeing month-end Nations Cup matches

Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has won a recall to the Nigerian national team and Issa Sarr of Orlando Pirates keeps his place in the Senegal squad for Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.It is a fillip for the Premier Soccer League's brand as previously West African countries were largely derisory about the ability of their players competing at clubs in South Africa and few received call-ups.Sarr was called up by Senegal for the first time late last year on the back of performances of Pirates in both the league and the African Confederation Cup.He kept his place in the latest Senegal squad, named at the weekend by coach Aliou Cisse, for two matches against Niger.Akpeyi has been called up for the double-header against Egypt by new Nigeria coach Samson Siasia.Zambia have named a provisional squad of 33 that includes three PSL players.Collins Mbesuma is an automatic choice given his scoring form, but Kennedy Mweene's lack of game time could see his place under threat, while Davies Nkausu has just recently found employment at Free State Stars.Zambia also named two former PSL stars for matches against Congo in veterans Isaac Chansa and Chris Katongo...
