Car plunges into river killing three‚ injuring two

Three people were killed and two others injured on Sunday morning when a car left the road and crashed into a river in Pietermaritzburg‚ KwaZulu-Natal‚ paramedics said. ER24 paramedics said they had found the car lying in a small river at the bottom of an embankment.“On assessment‚ paramedics found two people seated outside the vehicle. Both patients were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.“Paramedics were later informed that three other occupants had been in the vehicle at the time of the collision. The surrounding area was searched by paramedics and SAPS for the missing patients.“After some time‚ the bodies of three patients‚ a woman and two men‚ were found in the river. Unfortunately all three patients had succumbed to their multiple injuries. Nothing more could be done for the patients and they were declared dead on scene‚” ER24 said.The two injured were treated and transported to Northdale Hospital for further treatment.“It is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle‚ causing it to crash off the road‚” ER24 said...
