Nkabinde to act as Moseneke's replacement at ConCourt
President Jacob Zuma has appointed Justice Baaitse “Bess” Nkabinde to act as Deputy Chief Justice. Nkabinde was appointed following Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke's retirement from the Constitutional Court on Friday.The Presidency announced on Monday that Nkabinde will act in her new position until a permanent appointment is made.“Deputy Chief Justice Moseneke rose from almost impossible circumstances as the youngest prisoner on Robben Island through to becoming deputy president of the Pan-Africanist Congress‚ an astute businessman and pioneer of black economic empowerment to being one of the country’s finest jurists and esteemed Justice of our Constitutional Court. We thank Deputy Chief Justice Moseneke for his invaluable service to the judiciary and the country‚” said President Zuma.Nkabinde is one the few female judges who sits on the Constitutional Court.She was an acting judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal in 2005. – TMG Digital..
