Two arrested for shooting female traffic cops during robbery

Two men suspected of shooting two female traffic officers in Khayelitsha on Tuesday will spend the weekend behind bars‚ Western Cape police said. They were arrested in the Harare section of the township on Thursday.A statement said that one of the traffic cops “was shot in the leg and the other in the stomach and leg while sitting in their vehicle” in Harare square in Khayelitsha at 11.25am.“The perpetrators took the officers’ cellphones and wallet.“This breakthrough is highly commended by SAPS management and sends a strong message that those who are involved in criminal activities will be harshly dealt with.”The suspects - aged 26 and 30 – will face charges of attempted murder and armed robbery when they appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court on Monday. – TMG Digital..
