Organised crime raid in Cape Town nets Bulgarian and skimming devices

A Bulgarian was arrested in Cape Town early on Friday in a raid in which skimming devices‚ a cellphone jammer and cloned bank cards were seized. Several passports and identity documents‚ cash‚ homemade company stamps and ammunition were also confiscated in the raid in Brackenfell‚ carried out at 1.45am by the police‚ the Hawks and the Department of Home Affairs.Police spokesman Andrè Traut said the raid happened at the home of a man who had been “identified as a person of interest”.He added: “An investigation into the suspect’s alleged organised crime activities resulted in a search warrant being issued which was executed this morning.“The suspect‚ a 43-year-old Bulgarian male‚ was arrested on charges of fraud and the illegal possession of ammunition and he is due to make a court appearance in Bellville on Monday.” - TMG Digital/Cape Town Bureau..
