When it was revealed that DJ Euphonik would be on 3Talk yesterday afternoon, we knew to get our popcorn ready.

The star, real name Themba Nkosi, accused Arthur Mafokate of selling fake stories about him having a fling with Mafokate's girlfriend, the singer and actress Chomee, to newspapers.

But he quashed talk show host Noeleen Maholwana-Sangqu's suggestion of a "beef" between him and Mafokate, saying he didn't get into those with "elders".

"At a birthday party that I had Chomee was invited by my staff to perform. I sent her an SMS in the morning, saying, 'Thanks for last night, it was awesome', and she said, 'Thank you, it was great', and he [Mafokate] took that SMS out of context - a year later."

Various news reports said Chomee and Mafokate had fought, leading to the former moving back home to Soweto "to cool her head".

Euphonik accused Mafokate of planting the story in the media, adding: "It's unfortunate that in the circles we play in, you come across guys like that ... respect across all industries and facets of life is earned."

The 31-year-old also maintained that he had "absolutely" never laid a hand on Bonang Matheba.

In 2012, Matheba opened a case of assault against the 5FM DJ and got a protection order against him after an alleged physical altercation at his home.

The case was later dropped.

The DJ also spoke about his plans to become a property mogul. He co-owns the Debut clothing store in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, with DJ Kent.

Talking about marriage plans, he said: "My dream was to be married and procreating when I was 25, but every year was next year and next year.

"I'm hoping in the next two to three years. I think I'm more than set up to be able to settle down. I definitely want children. I want to have a squad - like five or six. [For] what I'm going to do, I need to have people to leave it [personal fortune] to, and people to carry on a legacy."

There was no response from Mafokate.
