Authorities are getting physical. Not only has the national Department of Basic Education started its symposium on physical education at schools in Cape Town, the Western Cape Department of Health has launched a programme to get people healthier.The two-day symposium, starting in Cape Town today, is being hosted with the Physical Education Institute of SA to help teachers with physical education at schools.The health department has launched a programme called Western Cape On Wellness, or WoW! to encourage exercise and healthy eating.As a start, MECs and selected communities will aim to change their lifestyles.
