A squad of 26 players was given a run yesterday when the South African squad for the Chan qualifier against Angola played Mamelodi Sundowns in a practice game that ended 3-2 in favour of the Brazilians. Only Orlando Pirates' recent midfield signing Gift Motupa, who arrived in the camp with an ankle injury, was rested, and coach Thabo Senong expressed his delight with the exercise.He got everybody onto the pitch in the three sessions of 35 minutes each. Both goals for the national side were scored by Amigo Memela, another recent acquisition by the Buccaneers."It was good to give everyone a chance to get the cobwebs out of the system. Obviously we had to manage the players because some had played over the weekend. But I felt we got some combinations going and we have the makings of a very good match-day 18 for Saturday."South Africa play Angola over two legs - the first at home at the Rand Stadium on Saturday, and the return in Luanda one week later.The winner earns a place in the Chan 2016 finals to be played in Rwanda in January...
