Former Zimbabwe cricket captain Guy Whittall found a crocodile under his bed in Humani lodge, according to a report.

"The really disconcerting thing about the whole episode is the fact that I was sitting on the edge of the bed that morning, barefoot and just centimetres away from the croc," Whittall told The Telegraph.

Apparently the 150 kilogram crocodile stayed quietly hidden under the cricketer's bed for about eight hours, and was only discovered by a housemaid after he got up for breakfast.

According to the report, Whittall called some inco-workers to wrangle the beast out of its new lair and place it in Humani' Chigwidi dam.

While it did resist being roped and and hauled out of its new lair under the bed, Whittall was apparently not too worried as it wasn't in water.

"The only real danger is getting bitten because it can't drown you."
