GAME OF THE WEEK

Nintendo's new game for the Wii U, Pikmin 3, comes from the same developers of the Mario and Donkey Kong games. As with the Pikmin games before it, it allows players to control alien creatures (as cute as the Minions from Despicable Me) and to explore alien worlds and fight enemies.

GADGET OF THE WEEK

The iPad Mini is one of Apple's most popular products, and already there is a new one on the way. According to the Wall Street Journal, the second-generation iPad Mini is due to be launched next month. It will have a higher definition Retina display and will be available in a range of colours.

ON THE WEB

Twitter is clamping down on trolls by updating its rules against abusive behaviour and adding a button to report abuse on the site.

The decision is a result of abuse that many high-profile Tweeters receive on the site. The one-click button will apply to users globally.

General manager Tony Wang is quoted as saying: "There is more we can and will be doing to protect our users against abuse. That is our commitment."

INSTAGRAM

US President Barack Obama's official photographer has joined Instagram. Pete Souza's first picture on the site was not of Obama, but of the presidential seal, accompanied by the caption: "My maiden voyage on Instagram. Will bring you behind-the-scenes of the Presidency."
