Comedy Central has realised that it's not funny making fun of elders, and has instead decided that sushi devourer/political saviour/comic Kenny Kunene will be the country's second celebrity roastee - not Leon Schuster.

It was announced yesterday that the ailing Schuster, 62, was awaiting a knee replacement operation and had been advised to rest by doctors following "an intense work schedule, which has seen him shoot two movies back-to-back".

Kunene's roast will take place at Gold Reef City's Lyric Theatre on April 3, and will première on Comedy Central on April 28.

No roastmaster has been announced yet, but he'll have to do a great job to follow in Trevor Noah's footsteps.

The Times came up with a few lines to help the new roastmaster:

  • You're so dumb, because you took one look at Julius Malema's gut and decided to join his party, thinking it stood for Eat Fast Food;
  • You have more power than people think. You managed to turn an entire country off sushi.
