A Metrobus burned down at Hendrik Potgieter Road in Florida North yesterday afternoon - and the M & D Community Policing & Maraisburg CPF posted videos on Facebook.

The bus caught fire at 5pm, after its driver started hearing strange noises from the engine.

She pulled over and tried to put out the fire, but to no avail - it just got worse.

"The driver pulled over and attempted to extinguish the fire, but this did not help as the fire started raging more," the police said.

“It was a lady driver, Ms Rametse. She has gone to the depot now,” a Metrobus supervisor told RDM News Wire yesterday.

“We are trying to remove the bus and take it back to the depot. All we know is that she heard a big bang at the back [where the engine is] and she stopped. When we arrived she was out on the road. No one was injured,” he said.
