Armed robbers hit two post offices in a space of two hours in Cape Town on Monday.

Police spokesperson Lt-Col Andrè Traut said three armed robbers attacked the Maitland post office at around 7.15am on Monday morning.

They fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Two hours later in a separate incident in Kraaifontein, Belmont Park, three armed men entered the post office at around 9.20am and forced staff to hand over money.

Traut said they fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

It was still unclear if it the two incidents were linked. No arrests have been made in either incident.
