The long-lost love letter to a U.S. college student is on its way to him after a delay of more than 50 years.

California University of Pennsylvania is forwarding the letter to Muhammad Siddeeq at his Indianapolis home after his friends and family members heard news reports about the letter sent to a student with his former name.

The letter addressed to Clark Moore and postmarked February 1958 arrived at the campus mail room last week. The note was signed "Vonnie."

Siddeeq tells the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review he has mixed emotions about it. It turns out he and Vonnie are divorced. She declined to speak to the newspaper.

Still, 74-year-old Siddeeq tells the Washington Observer-Reporter the letter is "a testament of the sincerity, interest and innocence of that time."
