A pig was taken into police custody over the weekend after it was accused of stalking a human.

Yes, you read that right.

Early on Saturday morning, North Ridgeville Police Department in Ohio received a call from a man who said he was being followed by a pig and didn't know what to do.

"Night shift responded to the obviously drunk guy walking home from the bar at 5:26 in the morning. He was at least drunk enough to call the police on himself while hallucinating," the department said in a light-hearted Facebook post.

When police arrived they discovered a very sober man walking from the Amtrak station - with his four-legged stalker in tow.

According to News 5 Cleveland, Ryan Singley told authorities the pig was friendly and acted like a dog.

"It was staying close to me, rubbing against my legs, and was trying to climb up my legs to get me to pet her," Singley said.

The bemused officers wrangled the pig into their cruiser and transported it to their dog kennels.

The pig has since been returned to its owner.
