A day after being left out of Barcelona’s starting team to face Real Sociedad, Lionel Messi fuelled speculation about a possible move to Chelsea by missing an open training session and started following the north London club on Instagram.

The 27-year-old not only started following the Premier League leaders, he also later started following Blues stars Thibaut Courtois and Filipe Luis on the picture sharing website, according to a Daily Mail report.

However, Chelsea should also note that Messi also follows Manchester City, Newell’s Old Boys, Argentina and Barcelona on Instagram.

Chelsea midfield talisman Cesc Fabregas, who played alongside at Barcelona last season before joining Chelsea, said last month that he would be keen on linking back up with his former team-mate.

Fabregas said last month: “I wish! Why not? I'd love that to happen. I'd be all for it. He is a legend that has changed Barca's history. But, as his team-mate and friend, without doubt I'd love to have Leo by my side (at Chelsea).
