US talk show queen Oprah Winfrey is about to get another jewel in her crown.

Winfrey announced on Monday that she would be reuniting the cast of the legendary movie The Sound of Music for the first time in 45 years, on her October 29 show.

Joining Winfrey in the studio will be Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer as well as the actors who played the von Trapp kids in the film: Charmian Carr (Liesl), Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich), Heather Menzies-Urich (Louisa), Duane Chase (Kurt), Angela Cartwright (Brigitta), Debbie Turner (Marta), and Kym Karath (Gretl).

While none of the adult actors will perform the songs from the film, the von Trapp Children - a singing group featuring members of the real von Trapp family - will perform, according to the announcement.
