US R&B superstar Usher is coming to South Africa, Big Concerts has announced.

The singer - full name Usher Raymond - will be in the country next year to headline the Hansa Festival of Legends tour.

Big Concerts announced on their Facebook page on Tuesday night that the 17-time Billboard Award and five-time Grammy winner will perform in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.

Usher released his debut album in 1994. His biggest hits include U Make Me Wanna, U Remind Me, Caught Up, Yeah! and OMG. His latest album is Raymond V. Raymond.

He famously snapped up an unsigned Justin Bieber for his record label, RBMG, who was discovered on YouTube by Usher's business partner Scott Braun. Bieber and Usher recently collaborated on a Christmas song for Bieber's holiday album, Under the Mistletoe.

Usher will perform at the Grand Arena in Cape Town on 3 March, the ICC Durban Arena on 7 March and at Soweto's Orlando Stadium on 10 March.

Tickets go on sale on 4 November at Computicket.
