WATCH! The full 8-hour Thank You SABC concert

The SABC has released an eight and a half hour video from the Thank You SABC Music Concert held on Saturday 10 September.

The controversial concert raised eyebrows after questions over who was footing the bill emerged last week.

As reported by TMG Entertainment, a press statement was issued saying the SABC would be paying for the show. The public broadcaster later denied this, saying it was only acting as a 'media sponsor' for the event.

TMG Entertainment then revealed that promoter Morris Roda was involved in the event. Roda has been investigated by the authorities after a failed Miriam Makeba tribute concert which cost taxpayers millions.

The show trended on social media after pictures of a near empty stadium emerged.

Officials selling tickets told TMG Entertainment on the day that prices had been reduced from R100 to R20 as attendance was low.

SABC digital has now released over eight hours of video footage from the concert.
