Anele Mdoda was representing Mzansi in Lagos, Nigeria this past weekend when hosting the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premiere.
The media personality and her co-host IK Osakioduwa got to rub shoulders with the director and co-writer of the Hollywood blockbuster Ryan Coogler, actress Danai Gurira and Tenoch Huerta.
Recalling the experience, Anele said she had a conversation with Danai, who revealed they used her interview with former news anchor Noxolo Grootboom to learn how to speak isiXhosa.
“Random information, Danai says they used my Mam Noxolo Grootboom interview to listen to and perfect the delivery of isiXhosa, then they got sucked into the interview and thoroughly enjoyed it. So chuffed.
“Tenoach gives a stellar performance in Black Panther. All I am telling you is before this role he didn’t know how to swim. Report back to me after you see the movie and let me know how he is doing,” she wrote on her Instagram timeline.
Giving her fans a review of the film, set to be in theatres from November 11, Anele said she felt it was one nobody should miss.
“Okes, this here movie, outside all the emotion, the grief, the healing, it is a brilliant cinematic offering. I can’t wait for you all to see it.”
