Makhadzi shared what kind of music she grew up listening to when she was younger, and said working with a legend was an honour for her.

Papa Penny and Makhadzi decided to come together to remake the legend's Milandu Bhe.

Taking to her Facebook timeline recently she shared her excitement that she finally got to make music with the musician.

“Papa Penny released Milandu Bhe in 1994 before I was born. My father had his CDs and played his songs a lot and Milandu Bhe became my all time favourite. When I heard the beat, the first words that came to me were Milandu Bhe and I called him for a remake of the song the Makhadzi way and he approved. I respect the legends who opened up ways for us new artists. Milandu Bhe featuring the legend out now,” she wrote.

Makhadzi had her first international shows in August, and when she landed at OR Tambo International Sirport to loud cheers from her fans she was in disbelief.

She had her first international performances in Canada and the United Kingdom.

Makhadzi, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, had humble beginnings, performing in the streets before becoming the international star she is today.

“It was a dream come true compared to where I started, because I started straight from the streets, not knowing I will go international. I can't really say I made it, because I still have a long way to go but for me to travel to international shows the world is waiting for Makhadzi. People are appreciating my work because that is why God is making it for me to travel overseas.”
