Rapper Ma-E has officially parted ways with Skhanda World.

The label and Universal Music SA released a joint statement on their socials confirming that Ma-E, JustBheki and DJ Mr X had left.

“The joint labels sincerely appreciate all the work that Ma-E, JustBheki & DJ Mr X have contributed to the local music industry throughout the years that they have been signed to the joint venture.

“We would like to wish all of the above mentioned artists nothing but immense success in their respective careers. May they continue to spread their wings and exceed the limitation of the sky,” read the statement.

Reflecting on his departure, Ma-E sent good vibes to his former label.

It will be a bitter blow for fans who were hoping Teargas would reunite and give Mzansi hits again.

However in November 2022 rapper K.O asked a fan to let sleeping dogs lie.

“Let the past be the past, bro. That chapter has been long closed. Respectfully,” K.O replied to the request for him to team up with Ntukza and Ma-E for one more song.

“Let the past be the past bro, chapter been long closed. Respectfully,” K.O replied.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE previously, K.O said he was on a mission to carry the flag for South African hip-hop.

“We've taken a big knock over the past few years since the rise of the amapiano and we also need to instil our own faith when it comes to our place in the culture. I'm trying to reignite that among my fellow brothers and sisters.”
