AKA has appeared on popular London-based arts and culture YouTube channel Ubunifu Space.

The episode, which aired on Thursday, showcases Bryan, Monique, David, Sade, Ian and Tonye featuring AKA reacting to his hit song Lemons (Lemonade) with Nasty C, was filmed in December 2022 at Maxhosa Africa studios in Johannesburg before the rapper's death.

Kiernan “AKA” Forbes was gunned down outside a popular Durban restaurant on February 10 alongside his lifelong friend, celebrity chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

AKA speaks about his journey in the music industry and how he was a producer before he became a rapper.

“I'm primarily a producer ... All my records, I produce ... It's a great outlet for my creativity because sometimes I don't feel like writing. I love chopping up samples ... especially '90s dance music.” he said.

The rapper went on to mention how he featured his girlfriend Nadia Nakai on the video and punts his album Mass Country, which was released on February 24.

Mass Country manager and co-executive producer Nhlanhla “Nivo” Ndimande said AKA put his all into the album and approved all elements before his death.

“The team was extremely blessed to work so closely on this project with Kiernan. We spent a lot of time mapping out this rollout and creating all the content we have under his direction. Kiernan worked tremendously hard on this project.

“He put his heart and soul into it ... What will be coming out will be as per his direction and his vision.”
