We were first introduced to Lwah Ndlunkulu on Big Zulu's uMuzi eSandton and her singles Ngiyeza and Ithuba have made people sit up and take notice of the rising star.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE the singer, whose real name is Lwandile Mtshali, shared how she packed her clothes and left her hometown Hluhluwe in KwaZulu-Natal without a plan and headed for greener pastures in Joburg.

“I chose to move to Joburg because there are a lot of opportunities whereas back home, emakhaya in KZN, there are no opportunities and there's no-one who takes care of people who make music. What I can say is the focus is soccer and Maskandi music. People that make the kind of music I make they were not listened to and understood. They said we did hip-hop. So that's why I decided to move to Joburg so that I can mix and work with other artists.”

After working on a song titled Home with Sjava she went on to release Ithuba and Ngiyeza under Big Zulu's Inkabi Records . She said she was working on an album that will be available in July.

She added she decided not to feature other artists on the album.

“In this album I want to talk to people and I want them to hear me. I have beautiful messages and encouragement to give that I want to give to people alone. I speak a lot with my fans on social media. They love my single but all the time they are asking me about an album and they ask to include certain songs.”
